Talk about a FUN "cake" smash session! Emily contacted me after I ran a special on my cake smash mini sessions. My goal for 2020 is to really try some new ideas. I don't wanna do the same ol' same ol' this year. I posted to my Facebook page that if you'd try a new or different "cake" smash idea with me, it'd be $75 for a 30 minute session - I provide the backdrop and decor - you provide the cake and cute outfit/kid.
Emily messaged me right away to book a session for Braelynn. Braelynn is just a few days apart in age from my Campbell - which makes it fun to think about how they'll be in school together.
Anyway, Emily decided that instead of an actual cake, she wanted to do ice cream, because it's her weakness, and little miss Braelynn loves ice cream too! I was SO excited about this idea! As soon as she booked, I started shopping for props and a backdrop!
First, we just let her play in sprinkles. I LOVE the sprinkles! They add a fun touch of color to the setup!
Check out this super cute chair I nabbed at H & M Antiques, in Kahoka! It was a perfect touch to this session!
(This is a fun sensory activity too - for those teacher friends I have reading this!!)
Then, we put some scoops of ice cream, some chocolate syrup, sprinkles and, of course, a cherry - in a glass sundae dish for Braelynn to dig in!! (Oh, and did a wardrobe change too!) That ice cream outfit was too cute to get chocolate all over!
She liked it at first....
But...then it ended, with what we think was probably a brain freeze. She's still adorable when she cries!
Happy first birthday Miss Braelynn!
If you have a fun idea for a "cake smash" session, don't hesitate to contact me with your idea! I'm always up for something new!
OMG so adorable. Love the colors and all of Braelynn's expressions. Priceless. She's had enough by the end lol!
